I was recently asked to photograph a Humanist wedding, a celebration of partnership without the usual restrictions on location, timing or structure.At the time, I knew very little about the Humanist ceremony and how it contrasted the traditional religious ceremonies or civil partnerships. Wikipedia, as ever, came to my rescue. Humanism accounts for a large proportion of the weddings in both Scotland and the USA, with numbers in England also on the increase. I was lucky to be able to photograph a very touching and personal ceremony and i’ll write more on this in the near future…
